Photoshop

Got into playing with photoshop again the other day. I was looking around on youtube and came across a tutorial for making a fire planet, which takes less than 5 minutes to do and it looks great. I also rememberd seeing a tutorial for something else, but the first steps of that tutorial created a good looking nebula. There was only one thing missing, a ship. I took a look through screenshots that I’d taken in Star Trek: Bridge Commander, and found a perfect one. I cut the ship out, put it in with the nebula and the planet, but it looked out of place. I decided to give a motion blur to give the impression of flying toward the nebula and planet, then realised I needed to dublicate the layer first lol.

In the end, I dublicated the main ship layer twice, one set to lighten, the other set to coloour burn or colour dodge. I think they both had motion blur as well, not quite sure though. However, this is how it turned out:
